Whats Up With this Dream???

Hey all,

Here it is the last day of May. I can't believe it. What is going on with the time? Is it because I'm getting older that time seems to rush by so quickly? Or is it just that times have changed and with the business of our lives make it feels like things are going by faster?

Anyway, enough griping. LOL Today's blog is about dreams...but not just any dream. I have them all the time and many of you know I lucid dream, but last night I had one that just made me mad.

Now you know I have a bit of a crush on Orlando Bloom. He was so hot as Legolas and even inspired Danolas, my High Priest Witch in The Peacekeeper Series. I loved him in Pirates (except for the ending...hated that) and I even liked him in Elizabeth Town.

And I have to admit I've had a few other dreams about this handsome hunk, but they all had to do with me and him and a bucket of dark chocolate...if you know what I mean.

So what the hell is up with having a dream about him and another girl????? And even worse, I wasn't jealous in the slightest. It was more of a little brother type dream and that disturbed me even more!!!!

What was it? Mainly a nonsense dream, with pygmies and stacks of brown cardboard stacked boxes, a runaway RV and a few crazy hitchhikers. And right in the middle of it, Orlando is sitting at the RV table and this other girl is with him.

Now in the dream I have to get something and he's in the way, so instead of feeling jealous or angry he is with this other girl, I look at him with big sister eyes and say... (get this)

"For God's sake, she can lick you later. Right now I need you to move."

So, what's up with that? A dream with Orlando Bloom that isn't even erotic? I've been robbed!!!! And even worse, that's the last of it. Just a brief appearance that didn't even make my juices heat up. *pout*

I've had other dreams like that. Ones I wake up going, WTF???? It doesn't happen very often but when it does, I always wake up wondering what I had for dinner that weirded my system out. LOL

Bad dreams, good dreams, any type of dream can make you wonder what in the world your mind is really thinking about. I've often wished I could have a straight connect to that part of my mind so I could understand better.

So, what about you all? What dreams have you had that you woke up and wondered what the hell was going on. Share them now. I want to hear if I'm the only weird one in the bunch!!!! I know I'm not, but I just need an excuse to get you all to comment. LOLOL

See ya next Saturday and don't forget to pick up your copy of Eyes of Fire, my newest BESTSELLER!!!! WooHoo!!!

Tempting Tuesday - Feeling Better Through Sex

Hey all,

Since I'm still feeling rocky, I thought I'd talk about something a little odd.

Can you feel better through sex? Can playing doctor make the illness go away?

Could the saying "Feed a cold, starve a fever mean something sexy and erotic if you moved a few words around and added a toy or two?

I did some googling and this is what I found. Check out these sites to answer the about questions!

http://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/relationships/couples/SexBeautyAndWellbeing.asp

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/features/article591266.ece

I was told by a friend that when she is sick, she loves it when her partner gives her oral sex. She said she doesn't want to do anything too physical, but just relaxing while her lover takes care of her makes her feel 100% better fast.

Same goes with toys. I know for myself that I don't want to do a lot of moving when I'm sick, but I won't say no to a treat with a vibrator and some cuddling afterwards.

Now, those are some of the fun ways to deal with being sick, but here are some of the more romantic normal ways...

I know for myself that when I'm sick all I want to do is rest, but Jonathon is very good at making me feel better. Here are some of the things he will do for me.

1) Feeds me. Even if I don't feel like eating, he makes sure I don't go hungry.

2) Gives me a foot massage. I know some say massages aren't good when you're sick, but I love it. When I'm feeling really bad, he will rub my head and feet until I fall asleep.

3) Takes care of business. He tries to make sure everything I usually do is done. That way I'm not worrying about things when I should be worrying about my health.

Anyway, I'm off to take another nap. I'm already tired and I just got up. LOL

Hugs, and see you on Saturday for a fun post!

WooHoo!!!! I'm in the Top Ten!!!

Hey all,

I'm still feeling a little rocky, so this blog will be short and sweet. LOL It was going to be about something else, but when I got up this afternoon I had several emails from readers and my editor about The Mylari Chronicles: Eyes of Fire.

It's cracked the TOP TEN BESTSELLER LIST!!!

And yes, I'm really excited. It was a bestseller before when it came out in it's original version and I was VERY pleased to see that it's new and better version (IMHO)has also garnered it's own fans.

The characters are near and dear to my heart because the book is semi-autobiographical. Well...as much as it can be when it's set in another world with elves, ogres and magick! LOL

But since I've been sick and in a blue funk for the last week or so, this was welcome news indeed. I've been struggling to concentrate on writing and I know that a great deal of it was tied up in my emotions. A big nudge like this, even if the book is only there for an hour, really makes all the difference.

So, let me take this time to say thanks to all of you who've bought the book and for those who haven't yet...what are you waiting for? If you've missed the info on this now BESTSELLING Book... (god, I love saying that! LOL) check it out at...

http://cjengland.com/mylari/eyesoffire.htm

And purchase this book at...

http://www.mybookstoreandmore.com/product_info.php?products_id=961

And again, thanks to all of those who made it possible. Remember to send me your receipt for a free collectible gift!!!

Hugs,

What is True Romance?

Happy Saturday all,

I'm so excited about Eyes of Fire and how well it's doing. It was the very first book I ever submitted and as I've said, the reviews are great so far. I hope that everyone is enjoying it because I think it's one of the most romantic books I've eve
r written.

Which leads me to our discussion for the day. What is romance and how has it changed over the years?

Now this can be a hot topic for some people, and those who read romance have strong opinions on the subject. At the risk of alienating some people, I too have a strong opinion, but I'm pretty
sure if you've read one of my books, you'll already know the answer.

For me, Romance is a story between two committed people and will always , always, always end with a Happily Ever After, or at the very least, a Happily Ever Now.

Now I know that others feel differently, but for me, I feel cheated if a book that is touted as a romance, doesn't have these elements. I remember Nora Roberts said during an interview that no
matter how the genre may change, an HEA will always be a must. And I have to agree with her.

I will fight to the death the right for authors to write any type of book they want, but for me as a reader, I want a happy ending and I always
write what I would want to read.

So that being out of the way, what is it exactly that makes a book romantic? Sex? Em
otion? Committment? Love? Or is it all of the above.

In my humble opinion, a true romance book needs to have a couple who fall or are deeply in love with each other. While sex can be a wonderful addition to the story, I've read some truly wonderful books that weren't erotic in the slightest.

It's the emotion that drives a true romance book. Love, pain, angst, however you want to say it, we read these types of books to feel along with the characters. When the heroine weeps, we want to weep with her, and when the hero takes out the bad guy, we want to feel his passion and his anger. And when they finally celebrate their love, whether it's with a kiss or hot sex, we want to feel that triumph and satisfaction.

Has romance changed over the years? I don't think so. No
t really. The stories are still about couples finding each other and falling in love. There are still problems and angst with them being together, and there will always be some type of resolution, that Happy Ever After I mentioned earlier.

The only difference I see is the way it's being told. Books are more explicit and sex is a big part of the equation. The types of couples have changed. True love can be found with those who are of the same
sex. And now you can find true love with a vampire, a witch or a shapeshifter just as easily as you may find it with the boy next door.

Romance is the one genre that accepts everything and ignores nothing. Look around at the books available and you'll see a crossing of genre lines in our stories that is rarely seen in any other. I love being a romance writer because I can explore parts of myself and my imagination I might not be able to anywhere else.

So what do you think? What does romance mean to you? Has it changed in your opinion? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Hugs and have a wonderful weekend!

And Life Goes On

Since I'm blogging today over at Samhain blog, I've decided to repost an email I did about the latest tragedy happening overseas.

No fun and games today. This is
too horrible to find anything tempting.

Reposted from CJ's Chat List 5/6/08
Have you seen the news about Burma? I missed it until last night. The devastation is so overwhelming, I don't know what to think. And there are reports the military government knew it was coming and did nothing to warn their people? Is that some form of horribly twisted population control? I can't believe it.

Sitting here nice and comfy on my couch staring at the horrific scenes, it really puts in perspective that my car blew a tire, or I can't get all the channels I want on my TV. It is a lesson in appreciating what you have because it could so quickly be taken away. Not a bad lesson to learn.

But life goes on. An affirmation of life came when Jonathon dragged me outside into our backyard. He was shushing me and when we finally got out to the porch, he waved his hand and whispered. "What's wrong with this picture?"

As detail oriented as I am, I spotted it immediately. A female softshell turtle was in one of our flowerbeds. She'd dug up a huge amount of dirt. And as we watched, we could see by her concentration she wasn't just there to sunbathe.

Now we live on a good size lake in a residential community. We have all kinds of things in the water, even the odd gator now and then, but this was the first time we'd seen a turtle this large. And it was easy to see what she was up to.

Laying eggs.

Affirmation that life will go on.

She finished up her business, spurred on no doubt by the fact there were two very rude humans watching her, and skedaddled back to the lake. Immediately afterwards, her egg bed was visited by hungry crows who somehow knew what was going on even from a great distance.

But unlike all those wildlife people who just watch, I chased them away and put a protective covering over the bed. In nine weeks, I should be a turtle mommy.

And new life with all its joys and tragedies goes on.

Have a good day all. Hug someone you love and send thoughts and healing prayers to those who aren't so lucky.

Love ya,
